Coffee Wagera Academy Offers

“Foundation Barista Skills Program”

Coffee Wagera Academy was launched during COVID with a 3-day basic barista training program. Over a hundred people have been trained, many of whom are working at coffee shops locally or abroad.

First Things First:

  • The fee is Rs.20,000 per person
  • The training is not affiliated with any local or international organization.
  • You will get a Certificate of Participation.
  • We don’t offer or guarantee any jobs.
  • This only happens in Karachi.
  • The training is 9 hours, usually 3 hours a day for three days.
  • The dates and timing can be discussed and agreed with our trainers.

Theory Sessions

  • History of Coffee
  • 12 steps from bean to cup
  • Types of beans: Arabica vs Robusta
  • Single-origin vs Blend
  • Fresh roast vs old roast
  • Basic roast profiles
  • Instant vs Brewed Coffee
  • Commercial vs home brewed
  • Six basic types of coffee
  • Factors required for brewing: Temperature, Pressure, Time
  • Parts of the machine and barista tools

Practical Sessions

  • Grinding
  • Leveling
  • Tamping
  • Espresso shot extraction
  • Perfecting an espresso
  • Milk frothing for cappuccino
  • Perfecting a cappuccino

This program is good for coffee lovers who want to set up a coffee station at home, for people who want to get jobs as a barista, for students who would like to get part-time jobs at coffee shops when they go abroad for higher education, and for anyone else interested to learn new things.
